Hitman (2016) was released in March of 2016 in an episodic format over the course of 10 months with the final episode being release in January of 2017. This game is a follow up to the 2012 Hitman: Absolution which was preceeded by Hitman: Blood Money in 2006 (not counting the compilation game Hitman: Trilogy or the side games in here). Square Enix (sound familiar?) is at the helm of this game with some assistance from IO Interactive, a studio that they acquired.
Unlike some other ambitious revivals from previous platforms (looking at Perfect Dark: Zero albeit a bit longer of a timespan), Hitman was greeted with pretty good reviews for a majority of the all of the episodes. Multiple platform support across PC and PS4 definitely helped it’s sales out too, but that should generally be expected from Square Enix in this day and age.
